Sonic Testing...

While testing my final project i found out that there were few problems that occurred when opening the .swf files. The Enter Page wasn't allowing me to click onto the enter button in order for me to go next. After i fixed the problem, then what happened was that the 2nd page wasn't opening up.
All i did to sort these pages out was that i re-named and re-put on the action script. after saving and testing both files were working the way they were suppose to.
I also had few glitches with the games page. What happened was that after linking the games to the page, when clicking the actual .swf file wasn't appearing the way it was suppose to. basically what happened was that the external link was dead. I fiddled with the setting of the external link from attaching it through web, "self" to "blank" which helped the page link. However it seems to be that some of the computers don't recognise where the game was so it just opened a blank page.
On the other hand when Mark Towers was looking through these documents on flash he realized that the games were working on his computer. Which meant that it was either my computer or there was something missing in my computer that Marks computer already had.
What i also realized was that after i inserted the video encoded files opening it on another computer or even a different day it didn't seem to recognize the file. This problem wasn't major however it completely stopped me from using the roll-overs and also activating the video.
To solve this little problem what i have to do is re-enter the video into the flash file and re size it the way it was before. Due to this problem i will have to do this every time i use a computer. What i could do to improve this is by sticking to the original idea by importing videos the normal way and then creating buttons to control these videos. It would be less of a hassle.
After solving all these problem i realized that my CD-ROM was in need of animation, so what i then did was i added motion tween which allowed my animation to fade in in the way i wanted it to. I added animation to every single page, however after putting the final project onto a CD i realized that some of the animation wasn't working and that the music track that i inserted was only working on the first page (Enter Page). To fix this problem i will have to somehow find a way to solve this so that the music is playing all the way through out and re-due the animation on the pages that dint work.

Video Encoder....

Yesterday i learnt how to embed a video by converting a video from .wmv to a .fla file.. I used a programme that allowed me to do this. this specific programme is called Adobe CS3 video encoder.
This allowed me to post the video on to my page and then create existing buttons, without all the mess of creating separate buttons. i did this for all my videos. I also changed all the roll-outs so when rolling over the picture and moving the mouse away from it, the video will still appear

Adobe Flash & Photoshop..

The screen resoultion for both Flash & Photshop has been and will be 1280 x 1024

16th May 2009 - Sonic GamePlay.. (Video)

For my units i was asked to produce a video which enabled me to learn a new software. This software is called "Windows Movie Maker", with this software's i uploaded videos which i downloaded of the Internet and imported it into movie maker.
I downloaded these videos of www.youtube.co.uk. I got few game plays which allowed me to make my own movie with previous clips instead of having movie clips mixing up.
I presented 2 games of Sonic The Hedgehog and added effects when the files where imported into the software. I learnt how to crop a file to many clips where i was allowed to choose which part i wanted to keep and also which part i didn't necessarily need.
After Adding all the effects onto the sliced video clips, i added transition effect, this allows the separate videos to come in with an effect, so after the title the next clip will have the effect of a fade in, which then after playing you will see the effect happen.
Finally when i finished the movie project i clicked on a button on the left hand side saying finish movie, which then allowed me to choose where to save the file, whether on my computer, CD, web or camera. I saved it on my Computer first named it, and after i finsihed i transferred the finished .fla file into my usb and then into my project as well as handing it to Mark Towers.

16th May 2009...

Today i have linked all the videos to Flash.
I learned how to use rollover buttons and enhanced it into my work.

The action script for this is:

  • Global Functions
  • Browser/Network
  • Duble Click - LoadMovie

Then:
  • on (rollOver) {
loadMovieNum("Character Page.swf", 1);
}
  • on (rollOut) {
unloadMovieNum(1);
}

This Allows you to Roll your mouse over the pictures to play the video, as soon as you roll over the video the video stops. As you cans ee there is "1" at the end of the actions script which allows the video to come on top of the page instead of it opening as a new page.

File Formats..

When i started creating my designs in Photoshops i saved the file twice after completing the page.
The first file format that i used was .psd. This is Adobe Photoshop, which i create the design in.
After i completed .psd (Adobe Photoshop) Design file, i then saved it as an image itself. Which then i saved it to a .jpg (JPEG).
After i did this for all the designs i left the pictures and Photoshop file in one folder.

Before i started my Flash Work i was told by my tutor Mark Towers that i had to crop all the images on every single design and save it as a .png (PING) file. This allows transitions, and effects to happen with transparency behind the image.
However when cropping few of the images i had realized that i couldnt save backgrounds as a .png so i saved it as a .jpg file.

Adobe Flash (11th May 2209)

I have been working on my flash work for Sonic The Hedgehog.
I realized that i didn't connect any of the buttons to the actual page so what i had to do was i had to re-open every single page and copy and paste from the ones that i actually connected it it.
This was a very hard task due to the fact that now i have in total various pages for every single character.
Now i am working on how to create a rollover button to create a videos page. This will be a very hard job but with the help of my class mate Becky i have learnt how to actually insert, import and use flash in the right way.
I also finished the last cropping which i had to do in order to complete all the cropping that i had. Vector was the last character. Ive also connect all the characters to the characters page, however i just have shadow and vector left to do.

Photoshop..Flash..

10th February: I started editing and cropping all the images that was created of Sonic The Hedgehog. I used the crop tool and also used many of the fx effects to make the characters stand out n unique. I designed various pictures which are all displayed in this blogger.com..
17th March: Continued on cropping all the images into .png files so that it could be added into Adobe Flash.
31st March: After Cropping all the images one by one into a .png file i ended up losing my USB, which contained all the work that i have been working on from September. Got a temporary USB to keep me going through the Easter Holidays
3rd - 19th April: Easter Holiday, did Marks Unit 58 Interactive Media Authoring. got few assignments outstanding to do which is the Plan for Unit 2 and Unit 59 Multimedia. there are also few other things that needs to be done as such as distincion task for Unit 60 and Unit 61.
20th April: Eater Break is over, started on the cropping again after losing most of the work. I re-designed few of the pages and also added effects on the ones that didn't have any effects. Also started on the Adobe Flash work. Learnt how to use Adobe Flash the same way i use Adobe Photoshop!
27th April: Continuing on with the flash work. Had to re-do it all because the canvas size was to small, so i changed it from 500 x 400 to 1280 x 1024. As you can tell the previous canvas was to small so when it came to editing all the .png files it were too big. After realizing i re-sized the canvas and placed everything easier.
7th May: Today all i did was continued on my Adobe Flash work..
I also Drew up my StoryBoard for my Unit 2 Plan. Scanned it in n saved it.. Shown below..
